I am wondering since this year engines are going south. I am wondering where to put clips at?

Ever since I bought my yamaha sleds I always moved my clip position up 1 notch because yamaha jets there sleds fat. I never had any problems with this. Now my question is would it help if I put these back to stock to save the engine? I am trying to save from a burn down. :o| ;)!

Thanks

I was thinking going all stock with the needles and going up on jet size to be safe. I don't hear alot of people changing these position like I used to.

Thanks for the info so far....

I was checking out my 98 700 and it shows that the clip should be ( 3rd grove clip washer washer) Well For some reason it is ( washer washer clip in 3rd grove)

With washer washer clip in 3rd groove What does that mean?

I don't get it

clip 3 clip washer washer = 3
clip 3 washer clip washer = 2.5
clip 3 washer washer clip = ?
clip 2 washer clip washer = ?
clip 2 clip washer washer = should be 2 but it is not so what is it?

I need to make a diagram..... Can some one help? :o|

This is what got me confused. I am looking at the and thinking why would it be 2.5 in the 3rd space down?

Shouldn't 2.5 be where the 2nd notch is from the top and not the 3rd?

It is kinda like What is the number for clip in the very top of the needle with both washers below it?

that would be 1.5

So why it 1.5 instead of 2.5

2nd grove should be 2 or 2.5 or 2.x

and

3rd grove should be 3 or 3.5 or 3.x

I am trying to figure this out

What is 3rd grove with both washers on top then?

Thanks for the help guys I just trying to get this straight and write it down.
;)!

yea it's a little tricky you need to take your time and study it if it's new to someone.

study it from the .5 to the 2 and watch how it goes in steps with the clip.
