Freezing Rain today

what a challenge today to drive.Made it to work,picked up my job..main streets passable,but side street to residential was NUTS!!!!!!1 mph or less,couldn't turn onto the street.Backing up was putting me into the snow bank.Took 5 attempts to try and turn 90 degrees.In drive..then neutral..back to drive..then neutral..then snap the gas pedal..swing back end..back to neutral and into drive again.Get the next corner..made it.Passed the house and couldn't back up without going sideways..WHAT THE HELL!!!!!Had to go halfway up the street to find another street to turn around.Finally got going back to the guys driveway.Couldn't turn to it.CRAP!!!! Down to the next street,made a u-turn SLOWLY..came back and made a big turn at 5 mph trying to line up the guys drive,gave it gas..swung back end and then nailed it up his driveway. I CARUMBA!!!!(blue who's quote). Luckily they just opened up the HWY at 2:30 so that I could get home.Then up my 400 foot driveway almost didn't get to the front of garage(driveway goes up on incline),had door open already and all ice ..had to put in neutral and glide into garage without hitting the side. And you know what...I HAVE TO DO THIS ALL OVER AGAIN TOMMORROW!!!!.This ice ain't going away soon,more rain tonight and tomorrow..Ya Ba Dab Ba DOOOOOOO!!!!!! It's like trying to ride your sled up a hill that is coated with ice...good luck .. And my partner went to the Caribbean for 10 days and didn't take me..took his wife instead..WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!!!!! LOL
 

If you put some tires on that rusty old ford truck you might get somewere.

hey how do you think I can afford to ride a Yamaha.Drive an old Ford truck..but it is not rusting.I have new tires on it.Hey it was so bad today apparently tow trucks where in the ditch,sander trucks were in the ditch and everyone else.Maybe they should get new tires.I never hit the ditch...lol
Have you checked your nuts lately bluewho?? Is one loose somewhere???? Maybe you should put tracking devices on your nuts so you can find them easy...lol

Sounds like around here. Freezing rain here all day. Now talking 3-5 inches of snow on it tonight and 6-10 more on it tomorrow. Can't wait.
 
just flew into Thunder Bay and you can't even walk down the street Gonna have to get my boots studded like the wifes lol.
 
on my long driveway,my stepson was skating with his Mazda.Didn't make it to the end where service road is.Backed up..going sideways.Took him 10 minutes to back up 50 feet.Then he tries again to the service road..stalls on top again,because my driveway goes up to the road.Backs up again.next thing I see he is completely sideways up there in the driveway.I am laughing now. Now I am thinking I won't get out of here to go to work tomorrow.Somehow he made like 3000 calculations..inch by inch and got the front end pointed back to the house and parked it.
Thinks he could do anything after I tell him he won't make it.Comes in the house hands raised and says what fun that was.Says he would like to go find a parking lot somewhere and do donuts now.I just couldn't help but to laugh at the whole thing.He'll have to learn by Wednesday(has to work) how to give it just enough gas to get the car to the top of driveway and service road,then lay off the gas and try to turn without going into the ditch.This will happen at about 5:30 am and I will be peaking thru the window.Basically he has to go to Macdonalds and they make him chip ice in the lot.This should be fun.
 
Actually it was on the Weather network. I was trying to see if I was making it to work tomorrow as I fly in to work. All I could think of your step son driving up onto the service road and sliding into the ditch right across. That is some crazy s*** out there I hope that nobody gets hurt.
 
Yeah he is not to keen on ice driving,One night a fews years back he came home late,comes down the driveway and this time parks up to the garage doors,because he thought I WOULD BE SNOWBLOWING HIS SIDE PARKING SPOT. Well It was alittle icy on the pavement,he slides(going to fast of course) and smacks my overhead door and takes out two panels. I just installed the new doors just before winter.That didn't make me a happy camper.He said he was sorry!!!!
 
I would have taken freezing rain, we just got nailed with rain which took out over 1/2 our snowpack in 24 hours in northern Minnesota. It WAS the best snow we had for riding in 10+ years and now the trails look like crap and its STILL raining.
 
same here in North Bay, complete nightmare getting to work today...goping to be +6 today and tomorrow, 15-20 MM of rain tomrorow.....sleds parked til we get at least 10-15cms
 
Sledding is out for now here.With the mild temps,sure didn't take to long to kill everything off that was ridable.Water in ditches,on the Rivers.Was thinking of getting my lawn tractor ready this weekend.What a winter..just getting worse every season.I won't be spending a lot of $$ on my sleds anymore or even thinking of a new sled in the future the way it is going.I seem to be riding a less every season anyways,can't see putting out any $$ towards any new sleds in the future. I would like to find a Hovercraft of some kind,now that would be fun,or build one from scratch.Would be able to go over water,snow,dirt,ice and anything else.Yamaha should come up with this idea..an all weather machine..it would be a fun thing to ride.

some f,'in idiot is riding out tonight around my house and my back yard with a doo I think.He put on an after market can and is just torquing it out.He was out last night going nuts in the rain with temps at 3 C. All he is doing is pinning it for a few seconds,then letting off..then pinning it for a few seconds..so on and so on.It sounds so loud,it just echos thru the house..what an aZZ.Was hoping he'd blow the motor already.Looks like the second neighbour beside me,it is in his yard.Could be new owners there,I don't know.But he is trespassing on my property and I am ready to grab my 306 .As if I go riding thru their yard.I hate people like that.He looks really cool doing that alright..what a jerk-off.I hope my other neighbour phones the cops on him for noise violation. I really think the guy is retarded or something.What a punk-azz!!! If I could only get a clean shot right thru his motor. ;)!
 
We are getting the rain here in t.bay and freezing over night. But at least we still have a couple feet of snow left . with snow starting wed night into thurs.
