has anyone replaced a front heat exchanger protector with the Drive wheels and track on the sled? i wonder if you can still fit a rivet gun up to the top Rivet with the drivers installed? im waiting for the protectors to arrive but i want to re-assemble my chaincase before i forget where everything goes..lol

Same thing just wondering if the drive cogs have to be moved back to put protectors in hope not but

If you read the instructions on the Hipperformance eng. or other sites. The top of the protector has a peg the gets siliconed into the hole you drill in the plate just above the exchanger. The bottom plate is where the rivets go up thru the bottom of the plate by the beyypan/ skid plate area. I think it could be done you would just need a long drill to drill the 2 upper holes. This is the site www.hiperf.com/acatalog/instructions550023.pdf

Hope this helps

there are 2 style protectors, one with a rivet tab top & bottom, one with a peg at top & rivets at bottom. If u have the rivet at top type, I think the drivers will b in the way, so wait to put it together. The peg style can b installed with drivers in place though.

my protector from my SXR600 was coming off a couple season's ago.Never got a chance to get it back on.I am thinking of the studding the track..so will have to now.Mine looks like the type that is riveted top and bottom.Have to get some Yami rivets for it..

Yea, I think the drivers are in the way for that style. But, that rivet at the top is probably a stronger setup. Nothing holding the top on the other type, just the rivets at the bottom.
