Hey guys, I'm contemplating sprucing up the old MM with a new tunnel, skid/rails, track, anti-ratchets, trailing arms, and seat and I'm wondering what I should expect to get for my used parts. Right now I'm looking at a purchase price of around $3800 for all the goodies that are on the WISH list, and would like some advice on how much I could expect with the sale of the used stuff. And yes, I did a search on everything, but it varied so much my little brain turned off. Everything is in good to fair shape except the seat, which has 2 tears in the seat area and a few nicks from my boots above the rear compartment.
Complete Tunnel?
Complete skid w/hartman 144 tabs + polaris 144 track?
Trailing Arms?
Seat?
Stock drivers?

Get a Boss seat, but order now for next year. I would go look at post from BTV and others that have sold similar items over the last year.
You might want to consider simply buying another sled, and selling that one. You should get a nice upgrade for that much money.

You're absolutely right on the sell and buy option, but I kind of want to do it myself as a summer project. Get the ol' hands dirty and learn something for a change!

I'd guees you are looking at maybe $600 plus whatever you get for the tunnel.
Skid is a probably 200 plus the extensions so 250
Track is 200 - 300 depending on the shape/length unless its the stocker and then it's pretty much worthless
Seat is About 100
Trailing arms about 100
Drivers - might get 50 for them unless you have the axle in the deal too.
Good luck. Have fun with the build.

Complete running 2001 mtn maxs are selling for $1500 or less in colorado, so $600 for the whole lot would be good.

This year I put a 156 on my viper and couldn't decide weather to go with a tunnel extension or a new tunnel. Obviously the new tunnel was a lot more money, so I just decided to go with a MPI tunnel extension. It was really easy to put on and only took a couple hours to get it finished up. I was looking around today and went to Fabcrafts website, and they are selling there mountain max and mountain viper tunnels for $500. I think they have 144 - 162. If I were to do it again and I had the time, I would for sure go with one of there tunnels. Fabcraft is an excellent company, and there quality is awesome (Fabcraft.com), it might be worth looking into. As far as the rear skid goes, I would probably try to find a good used skid. I have seen almost new viper, vector and apex skids online for less than $400. rather than extending your current skid it might be worth just getting a whole new skid and not have to worry about geometry problems that the old MM's had. I put Wahl Drivers on mine, and they work great. I haven't messed with the trailing arms on my sled yet, I would like to get some but the things are so much money. As far as the seat goes. If you know anyone with a Boss seat, do a side by side weight comparison and you will probibly order one that same day. I have had mine for 5 years, and had no tears or problems with it. Good luck.
