Hi, I have a used pump and don't see any marks on it for alignment of the cable nor is there anything on the existing pump visable.
This is for a 1997 Venture 600
I went through the full oil tank in less the two tank fulls of gas. Hmmm
It appears the idle is quite low at about 1700RPM. I adjusted the trottle cable adjuster afterwards located between the two cabs top front. Revs drop real slow after coming to a quick stop and some bang, knocking type sound ignition. Once it would not rev up with the trottle at all. Took a miniute before I could pull away. I was warm, about 4 C. I think I'll turn that back to about where it was. I don't like the sound of it.

Pump
I have aligned and adjust Skidoo pumps. they have a line on the casing and arm which you align and can lean or rich the mixture my adjusting it either side of the point. I don't see this on the Yammy pumps. I have asked a parts service place and told it has to be programed. (did not believe him)
I got it from a member on this site last year. It was from another Venture he parted out.daman said:where did you get this used pump from/what was it out of? sound like it's from a '94.

programed thats funny, anyway if it's from a '97 venture(witch was a twin) it should have the alinment marks on the pump arm and pump base to use to adjust pump,if not they probably sold you the wrong pump a '94.tripplec said:I got it from a member on this site last year. I have it at the cottage. I'll have another look and if I can't see anything again I'll take a few photos. No point in trying to install it unless I can at least set it up for the correct mixture start point anyway. But I did not see them before so you're probably right.daman said:programed thats funny, anyway if it's from a '97 venture(witch was a twin) it should have the alinment marks on the pump arm and pump base to use to adjust pump,if not they probably sold you the wrong pump a '94.

The pump should be the correct part number for your sled. Make sure it is from the same year and model sled as yours. If not, you will need to know what sled it came from and check to see if it is the same part number. Pumps for different sleds have different internal calibration, so the wrong pump will give you too much or too little oil.
I would not buy a used pump anyway because it is probably well on its way to being an oil guzzler.
