Removing Rear Guide Wheel

I recently busted a rear control rod on my '02 SX Viper. I went to replace it and as I was in the process of removing all the necessary parts, I ran into a problem. I cannot get the rear guide wheel off (I have attached pictures showing the specific wheel). I removed the tension from the track and I am not able to get the wheel to budge. I haven't researched this much yet, as I haven't had a lot of spare time.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove this wheel?

you mean the axle wont slide out??

Correct. I didn't want to pound on it too hard until I knew the correct way to remove it.

The axle is just a thru bolt. Remove the cotter pin and nut, and then drive the axle out taking care to not damage the threads.

When replacing, the washers all go next to the rails. There should be 4 of them total.

if the axle is frozen in the spacer collars you'll have to get penetrating oil in
there somehow and work it back and forth,my phazer did this when i got it
had to pull skid get it to the work bench and work it,PITA

somtimes it just wont come out .had that problem with mine. it was a little bent inside the collars and it didnt matter what I did ,it just wouldnt come out! iF THIS IS THE CASE ...get a new or another rear axle. and torch out the old one. Then you can reuse the collars. I'm not sure about the 02 but the right side bolt is pinned in. you have to take it out the other side, which means the entire axle must be removed,

The guide wheel I am refering to is on the top of the suspension (so technically its not the rear guide wheel). I forgot to post up the pictures showing the location. I will post them up when I get home from work this evening.

little ones or the big ones the transfer rods connect to ? if the big ones they are pressed on ...hammer them off is what i did after removing the cap ....it it is the small ones there is a circlip holding them on here is a pic which wheel ?

just pound it with a block of wood and hammer,or a good solid mallet.They can be stubborn,but will eventually move.You just have to remove 1 wheel,as the other will slide off with the shaft.Then you will have the transfer rod off and then replace with new one and slide shaft back on thru.Check bushings at same time for wear.

well if he broke the rear control rod he'll need to pull it out to change so read this thread should help...
