Last week I put on a new belt and it squealed all day. Then i remembered that you have to pull out the 3 washers (shims) from the secondary clutch which I did Friday before I rode. The belt squealed only when it was warmed up and only when I start out but it did not do it every time. Any Ideas

all belts are not created equal you may have gotten one with tight tolerance(little short) from the factory, if ctc is on,run her,

did the end of the bolts look ok not wore??

i'm gonna be puttin a gear box in my sled with a 6 speed manual tranny from a sport bike, so i don't have to worry about belts squeelin' easy install..... always wanted to shift a snowmobile!.... not! lmao.

I got one of those. Measured agains my other new one and its a few mm tighter, It squeled for the first 250 miles when at idle, once it wore in no more noise. PLus it now is the size of a new stock one..
