Hi folks, I melted a piston on my 96 phazer and couldn't quite clean the cylinder well enough to use with a previously bought stock bore piston kit. Anyway, I bought a nice stock cylinder from ebay but realized after I got it that it is from an earlier model. They look the same except for the casting on the the 96 looks a bit thicker and it has "y-2" on it while the ebay one has a "y-1".......wa-da-ya' think?...should I hone it and slap it in??
...I just check part numbers between an 85 and a 96 and they run the same...I guessing that means I'm safe, but would love any info that someone smarter than myself (...which isn't hard...) might lend.
Sorry bout the "novelish" post.

They were all the same from 84 (the first year) till about 98 or so. Whenever they went to the trailing arm chassis there were some changes made to the motor. Not sure if the cylinders will swap between those.

Thanks Ryan B!... I'm gonna go out to the ol' garage and get to honing right now!...the closest I've got is a 76mm "dingle-berry" honer...seems to fit all right...I think I need a 73mm...I best not get to crazy with this one huh?
