I just put a 1.25 rip saw track on my 02 Viper. Does anyone know if I have to remove the front heat exchanger protectors? If so whats the best way to get them off without damaging the exchanger? Is there anything I should worry about without them in there? I also have the rear cooler any reason I should worry about that? Anything else I should do for this track to work ok on this model viper?
they have to come off, unless you are studding, then you have to change the front drivers for more clearance and then make the gearing taller to change your sled back to stock speed. Max Performance has a kit for this. TO get them off, take a grinder and hit the welds until flush then hit them with a hammer and they pop off. The tunnel you have to remove the seat and drill out the rivets, also there will be 2 rivets under the tank and 2 in front of that tank that will need to be removed, I lossen the tank and take a 12 inch cutting chisel or sharp screw driver and cut them off.
