Hi, I have a 99 srx 600 that I lean burnt last weekend, and I need atleast 2 cylinders for it and new pistons/rings. I was wondering if I should upgrade the motor to a 700 since I need 2 new cylinders anyway. If I did, what all do I need to change?? I know cylinders, pistons/rings, and jets, and looks like heads as well, but is there anything else?? If anyone has any of these parts, I may be interested. Thanks.

Hi, So I finally have the sled running as a 700. The parts that I needed were cylinders, heads, powervalves and CDI, as well as new Carb Jet needles and Main needle jets. I rebuilt it using a Winderosa gasket set, but I used the base from the kit and only had 100# compression after a few runs. I read some posts and tore it apart and put the Yamaha base gasket back in, now its got 125# after one run. I measured the winderosa gasket at .027" while the yamaha was only .009". Also my clutching was pretty wild before, so I only had to add some weight to get it to pull the right rpm's. Thanks again to Viperking for selling me the required parts and helping me out with what had to be done.

I am the one posting about the winderosa gaskets also. Glad to see that you measured it. I was wondering about it. I have 118# comp. with that base gasket in there. So you figure you gained 25# comp. by removing .018". That is the figures I wanted to hear.
