srx viper conversion

Do you need brakets? The srx comes with them. And if the Vipers mount with a clevis you just need to put the bushing in the frame and remove the brackets.

I think he can't, I did that on my SX but I think on the SRX's is different, he does need some kind of brackets...

Mine too. But I'm almost certain the srx is the same as the sx. They come with the brackets. The sxr and xt/xtc use the clevis mount that you need to put the bushing in the frame and remove the bracket.

Martyf go to www.hlsm.com and look at the fische. You need pn 19 and not brackets to put viper shocks on an srx

Nope. The cast piece is different on the srx. It doesn't have the spot for the bushing in it. Also the plastics are solid at the top of the shock so you will have to make a hole for the shock to sit up into the belly.

the srx's are not like a sx. to put viper shocks on it you have to make custom brakets for the top of the shock. also you have to widen the front end to get a good ride height and to keep the steering from binding when the suspension is fully extended. i widened mine 1 1/4" each side , i used the tops off the srx shocks on the viper shocks and modified the the srx upper mounts to get the tops of the shocks up in to the belly pan. with this setup i have a full 9" of travel and no binding. the other method is to make a custom upper braket that accepts the viper clevis and bolts to the srx chassis.the way bethviper does it . i don't have any blueprints but i will try to post a pic to give you a idea of whats involved . also i would not atempt the method i used unless you are a capeable and or certified welder, don't want front end parts breaking at high speed or on a busy trail.

ryan, your rubbing it in,
i will be making them this weekend before i alow myself to go riding. mama and baby are home and most other stuff is caught up for now.

Nope. I got my set:) Honestly doesn't matter to me if you ever produce another unless I'd happen to want them.

All kidding aside, they worked great. I ran them on the stock frontend without any problems and have since swap everything to up front to LW MPI stuff and haven't had an issue. By running them on the stock frontend I was able to get the front of the sled out of the snow which works great for the way I use the sled.

My mistake. I assumed they where the same because the shocks interchanged.
