Got the kids scoots out today. The traction on these is real bad. The tracks on these things are real bad (little to no lugs) and all the weight is on the skis. Any thoughts on what I can do to get these things to dig in ? studs haven't helped much either.

I suppose I could add 150 lbs of weight on the back, but then where would my kid sit? :dunno:

Same problem here! I would like to add some ski-skins or mod a set of plastic skis to help keep the front end from plowwing, which may help!

install plastic skis helps, I am going to get some power points for the track to add to the lug. they are a traction point made from plastic and have four sides. i put plastic skis on my mini z already and what a difference in take off and it speed. I never thought steel skis were that bad till i changed them. I have a set of yamaha plastic skis to cut down for the scoot, kids have been to buisy to ride it anyway. I did find that the thing would freeze down or snow would build up on them as ice on the bottoms. They dont go fast enough to make it fall off.
dave50 has c+a pros on his and said it made a huge difference. i used powermads on the mini

The only scoot I ever rode had these hard rubber paddles bolted to the track, maybe 3/4 in lug or even an inch. It had great traction and even for me (6'1" 200 lbs) it was a blast to ride. I love those scoots, if they werent so expensive I'd get one for the kids.

This was my answer to the traction problem. I did end up removing the outer studs and had to cut a 1/4 inch off each one or they would hit. Now it needs the plastic skis you guys are talking about.

This is after studding but it plows the snow instead of riding on it. Without the studs it wouldn't move. I'm thinking skis and a belly pan.

Sorry dont know how to make a new fourm but my sno scoot wont start plug gets wet carb is completly cleaned will start for a few seconds then just die it has been sitting for a long time and seen some nest around it but removed it all sounds like its only flooding any ideas?

I installed c&a skis and then bolted on 1 inch aluminium angle iron to the track it maybe could have been larger 1-1/2 inch may fit.

Had a couple of the 125cc snosports when the kids were small. They'd get stuck, I'd go step on the machine and drive it out. Finally bolted a couple strips of 1/2"X4" flat bar on the bottom of the running boards. (about 20# each side). It made a huge difference for traction. These were designed as trail machines and for riders 12 yrs and older. Lighter riders didn't put enough weight on the track and the skis weren't wide enough to offer floatation for deeper snow.
