Yea mine are R. If I used both SRX ones would that work? Do you know what the diffrences are?

Thanks, Drew

If you use both srx ta's you'll need to use the srx's spindals because thos
are different too i think yours are 180mm so check that aginst the srx
spindals.i would just look for a R TA.

Every where I call for a new TA is out of stock. I found a member on here with the SRX ones and he is in driving distance. And a better price. I was hoping they would work.

Thanks Drew

you'll need the spindals too does he have that? or measure the two see if
they are different,i think so,,thats your options.

what year and model vmax? spindles are all the same, save viper and some xtc's. difference from an "r " stamp to a "v "stamp is in the angle of the caster. an "r" ta will interchange with a "v" ta as long as you take the time to align the front end and reset caster and camber, and perhaps a shock adjustment, and change ta's in pairs. dont have a" r "on 1 side and a "v "on the other. there is only a 2 degree angle deviation between the "r" and "v", otherwise the same head design for spindles. this is verified info straight from yamaha printings, as well as personal experience.

I agree. Its the caster angle that is different between the vmax and the srx. The viper and some ventures have long spindles.

the R stamp spindles are 180mm long not shure on the srx V spindle yea they could be the same, and right just the 2 degree angle difference on the 2.

spindles were all the same on the proaction sleds until the appearance of the viper in 02. part numbers may vary 97-99 to present as there was a recall from yamaha for some spindles issues: 98 was a bad year for spindles shearing off at the lower weld where the ski mounts, somewhere in there is a pt# supercede. i had a dealer recall on my 98, but they didnt install the correct spindles and i ended making parts from tree limbs to get off the mountain and back to the trailer.

right the spindles on my xtc where replaced just before i got it, and 2001 was the first year for the new M spindle the viper uses, it was also used
on the vm dlx's and '01 PZ's and i think some others with the low profile ski saddle.

Thanks for all the replys guys, I appreciate it. To me they looked the same..I want to get a few more rides out of it before the end of the year. I ordered the new Stronger ones. I will put them to the test. Stock ones were fine for almost 2000 miles then the first time I got to a real ruff trail I bent one broke the other... I guess I need to slow down..

Be careful remember the stock TA's are designed to bend so your tunnel gets less damage(buckling)a stronger TA will bend less but your tunnel will see more damage,i've seen it before.

Yamaha new ones are more than I want to spend..If the kimpex ones are weaker than stock that would be no good. Mine bent/broke the FirsT time I hit a ruff trail.

Ones from the members here seem to be well used and slightly rusty. And for the price I should just go to Yamaha and buy new..
