There is a small dragrace (kinda informal but with lights etc.)this saterday where I live, I'm hoping to kick some butt with my srx, just wondering if
anyone has any tips or tricks for sled setup? the track will be, I think
about 550' my sled is a stock 2001 srx 700. I realy dont have extra parts
except what the dealer might have. i would like the srx to do as good as it can.any sugestions? it is already finely tuned just so ya know

Gearing it for that distance and clutch it from there would be my suggestions to start with along with adjustable transfer rods if you have them if not just remove the top nylon coupler spacer.Do a search for race setups and see what you come up with.

Right, im thinking loosen the straps a little and remove the bushings at least.
I cant get much for aftermarket parts in this town for clutching. Its only one race so not going to spend alot to setup for dragin no prize just braggin rights. Also only have a couple of days to get ready. Just wondering about some tricks, dont like to get beat with the srx ya know.

It would more beneficial to tighten your limiter straps up not loosen them. How many studs have you in the track? Take all the spring tension off your front shocks or as much as possibly that the springs don't fall out. If you have the stock contol rods on the rear, take the top plastic spacer out and put it on the bottom with the other spacer, This and doing the front springs will lower your sled. What you really have to worry about is getting traction. Go down one tooth an the top sprocket, any more and you will have to change the chain also. Have fun, once you do it, you will be bit.
