Man my worst nightmare came true today. I had my canister off today to make it alittle easier to change some gearing and there it was antifreeze where it is not supose to be. I than went and removed the exhaust manifold and there it was again on #1 & #2 cylinder portion of manifold. Here's what I have done to the engine, I rebuilt it from the crank up with new water pump shaft, new mechanical seal and inner seal.If there is a problem with the water pump portion wouldn't you think you would see antifreeze in all exhaust portions?I guess I could pressure test the coolant and see if I have a bad head gasket. Weird to have to bad head gaskets!
What sled??
I would guess the head gasket is the problem...its happened to me...

You know mr sled I think you are on to something there. It maybe the head because the guy who milled it made to passes. Most likely because he never had a cutter big enough. You can see a differance of about .002-.003" in cuts.I was aware of this so I used that hi tack gasket sealer but I guess it didn't work.I bought this engine of ebay.Soon I will have a $500 pull cord. So much for a perfact used ported engine.

My plans now are to pressure test the coolant to 14psi,since I have my manifold off it is very easy to use a bend alight and mirror. If the head is leaking it sounds like a good excuse to get a peak.ha ha 450 bucks canadian latter.Srue would like to see that stupid border torn down and become one nation.Win Win situation for the both of us.

Reason Found For Antifreeze Leak
Well guy's I pressured up the antifreeze to 14.5 psi and she held it for 10 min's and than I let off. I checked the head gaskets and there were no leaks. I bought this ported motor off ebay and the person who ported it went alittle to far when the to ports were on either side of the exhaust were opened up. Yes after 10 min's to little drops came out . The guy went into the water jacket. He even tryed to fix it with expocy. This is a case where bigger is not better. So far this motor needs all conecting rods replaced due to pitting on bearing surfaces,to badly ported cylinders and to out of three pistons have cracked skirts. It is a good thing I have other parts on hand.

Did you buy this engine from someone without him telling you about all of this stuff, like you got screwed?

the guy said he never had the engine apart and that he bought the sled used with the motor ported. He said he didn't use it much and was selling so he could pay his morgage. My guess is if he did use it much the engine would have failed soon. It was also in storage for a couple of years.
