Viper speedometer display

On my 03 viper the speedometer and tack display is literally melting. On the top and the side where the reset button is, it actually melted through and I filled it in with silicon to cover the hole so moisture didn’t get inside. The plastic inside where the tack pivots has signs of being melted and yesterday the tack stopped working. Though my fuel gauge and speedometer still work (digital parts).I noticed the melting problem about 500 miles ago…

I was curious if anyone else has heard or seen this happen. I search the forum and didn’t find anything about it.

I've heard of it. Has to do with the chrome windshields. It looks like you have one. Try painting the backside of it black.
 
then again, maybe it just melted a lil when ur sled got BURNT on the lake saturday... ahhhhhaaaaa
