I have a 1996 Phazer STW and was thinking I need more power. I love the Sled but the 485 has to go. Can I put an Exciter ll 570 motor (1993 SX) without to many headaches? Just kicking the idea around and wondering if anyone has done it?

I haven't done it, but I looked at a phazer with 600 polaris triple in it once. Be easier to start with an exciter as you will have to plumb all the cooling stuff in.
Build that little fanner up. Pipe, porting, some compression, reeds, piston mod, and flatslide carbs will make 80ish horse depending on the dyno operator. I ran one that way for years. Worked great here in MN.

I thought about that too Ryan. I have an Aean Pipe but I think its for the earlier year Phazer..doesnt fit! These Sleds are really fun to ride, I have had alot of sleds and this is my favorite so far, I'm not really a speed demon but Do like to ride wheelies off hills and such. If I can get 75hp, I would be happy!

That's odd that the pipe won't fit. I thought that they were all the same from 84 till they went to the trailing arm chassis. Maybe you got one that needs a new hole?? Don't know. Once I got the recoil rope on mine so it would stay in one piece I never had a problem with it. The guy that did my motor work advised me to tun a couple gallons of race gas in each tank to help keep the fanner together. Thing ran like a top and was a woods/ditch playing delight. Wish I'd never got rid of it. Was a shame to part it out, but no one wanted it whole.

I have the parts you need
Guys, I have a '93 Exciter II with a 570 in it and I am parting the whole seld out. The only parts that I have sold so far are the CDI box and Y-pipe. If you are interested in any parts send me a PM.
I was going to use the sled for a project and stuff a red-head triple in it along with an Edge-X 136 supsension and front widening kit but, bambino #2 is on the way and I need to build some bedrooms and a bathroom down stairs now instead.

that aaen pipe should fit just fine but it would require a new hole cut.all those pipes were the same.if you dont want to cut a hole i have a psi pipe that exits the stock hole.try & find some bender sx cut pistons(there .20 over) but cut a certain way.those worked awesome but will be very hard to find.also a set of 38's round or flat.with some mild porting & reeds & a tad bit of clutching & that aaen pipe will work awesome with 96 picks in the track..you can even use a exciter pipe which also worked good but you will have to remover the fan shroud...
mills i know all to well about a little remoldeing lately.& it wasnt by choice either.part of my house caught fire..but as far as adding a liquid cooled to a phazer chassi i would say it's not worth it unless you really want a project.

Couldn't have been stock could it??? I mean its only a 58hp? fanner, mine cant get no better than 125 km/h MAYBE 130 if conditions are perfect. But I heard mine has a tad bit more power, but I have lower gearing and clutching more for mountain riding.
Question - what work will be involved to drop a red-head triple into my sled??? Just wondering, I know its alot of work, but has anybody done anything similar? Oh yeah shes a 2001 Mtn Lite
