Last night it was 35 F and a guy had a GPS at the lake so we tested all our sleds out.........

2008 Arctic Cat F1000 (Stock???).......120mph (Sled is EFI....temp does effect as much)

2003 Polaris XCR 800 (5k in the motor, etc).....117mph

My 2001 SRX 700 (Bone stock....not even clutching...nothing)......114mph

Brother's 2001 SRX 700 (Stock with MBRP can)......109mph

2007 Polaris Fusion 800 (Stock????)......101mph

I am very impressed with my sled. When I say bone stock I mean every setting is the same as when i bought it. 6000 miles. The sled is 9 years old and is only 6mph shy of a sled that is way newer and has about 50% more displacement. Same goes with the XCR....newer, bigger, modded, and not much faster. I can't imagine what it would be like if it was -10F. For my area, my sled is jetted for -20F.

All riders were of similar weight, etc. Go yamaha!!!! Bring back the SRX!!!!

Im surprised the XCR didnt break into the 120's. Im also skeptical that a stock diamond drive equiped Cat will do 120. I wonder if the MBRP hurt your bro's top speed?

Went to radar run with srx 5-6 years ago.
lost 2-3 mph at the runs by going back & forth with a bender can.
stock can was faster...same day back to back runs.
saw 120ish on radar with skid lowered & 8bu weight set up & geared up 1 tooth.

sleds

My brothers sled has half the miles mine does. He bought it with zero miles in 2006. Some guy stored it and never rode it. His sled feels tighter and stronger in the low to mid, but I think it's the can. The runs were done with the notion of go until it stops speeding up, turn around and do it again. I'd say a little under a mile. The speedo was reading 123-125. I forgot to note that my first two runs the speedo was pegged at about 125, but the gps was messed up and didnt give a reading. The third run the speedo said 122 (guessing cuz it only goes to 120) and I only got 115 on the way back. I'm sure I could run with the other sleds at 0F. I recently broke the track on my 03 RX-1, but i'm curious as to what it would get.

Anyone else gps their SRX? How fast are the Apex/rx-1's running on GPS?

actually my buddy and i ran our 02 's last saturday (less than ideal conditions) i ran an inditicated speed of 113ish(american sled) on speedo 103.125gps (actually 165 kph but i converted it for you) he ran an indicated 185 kph (115.625mph) on the speedo and read 168 which translates to 105 gps . this was at 3 or 4 degrees above 0 (0 =32 f) the snow was hard pack ,icey ,grainy snow and a lttile bumpy....i was revving to 8500 then creeping down to 8100 (first time it's done that usually stays at 8500????) but given a better surface we would run considerably faster

jmp2204, You may have a broken power valve cable when rpm's drop like that.
actually , i was overheating my belt because of many back to back passes......it's all good now (swap belts between runs)
