Were there any major changes between a 1998 and 2002 SRX 700 skids? I thought that I read that the 1998 had shorter transfer rods, and if so would that cause a problem if installed in my 2001?

It would only make your NO ACTION even less action if they are shorter

Does that mean that the 2001 is better? Would adjustable transfer rods on the 98 skid make them equal?
98 & 99 have longer rods than 2000-02.. they went to shorter rods mounted infront of rear wheels, they bolt into a shaft that ties runners together, they did this for better transfer.. about an 1.5" shorter. I believe the runners have both holes in them.. You just dont want to put the longer rods in the closer holes,, that will bend supention componants..

One more question. Will a 2002 Viper skid bolt right up to a 2001 700 SRX tunnel, or are modifications required? The longer travel might be nice.
not real sure if it has the same bolt patern, sleds not here to check. But all is needed, is to swap shocks & limiter straps.. then your long traveled in the rear. Oops.. front shock mount needs to be modified so i here. not familiar with that part,, someone will chime in on that.

I'm not sure of model year, but the complete Viper skid I purchased from a fellow TY'r two years ago was a direct bolt in in my '01 SRX700.

That's what I thought. The guy I bought my SRX from said he did that with his other SRX, but I didn't ask if it was a direct swap and what the years were. Thanks!
