I bought replacement shocks for my 94 Vmax 600 with 2,000 Venture skid in it. I want to make sure I have the shocks installed right. On the rear and center shocks which way do they go? I have been looking at pics online and I have seen them both ways. On the center shock I assume the shaft is pointing down and think on the rear the shaft points toward the front. Just want to verify. Also does the valve on the shock where they recharge it face up or down?

Post #1 has a pic of the way my venture skid came out years ago. It may confirm directions. Up and down isn't too important as long as clearance with shafts and the track is achieved.

OK thanks. Thinking of trying to fit a Apex seat to the old Vmax to get some extra seat height. How are you liking the changes to yours and is there anything you would have done different?
valves are down, shafts are down and in

I liked the changes so much I bought an FX Nytro and sold the old girl this fall. Biggest impacts on the old one were the Viper shocks, ripsaw and ergo changes. The seat riser I made worked but if I had to do over again I may have looked for an old boss seat. Could have used another 2" of bar riser as well, I'm 6'.

Economy is keeping me from getting new sled. I found a 2009 Polaris Dragon 600 SP with the walker evans shocks for 7,699. Trying to keep old girl together a few more years for my boy.
