Yeah guys I just picked up a couple sleds from the dealer for my father!!!! They are a set of xtc 500 deluxe model with electric start and reverse. I was wondering what you guys can tell me about them. They have 5000 miles on them and the slides and wear bars are in like new condition. Track is also really nice. The front end doesn't even have any paint chips!!!!!!! The batteries are new and the sleds were run by an older couple. They also have only been hauled in an enclose trailer. They the best looking par of sleds I have ever seen in a long time. I gave 3000 bucks for them! I will get a set of pics as soon as possible because :worth: !!!! What can you guys tell me? How many miles do you guys have on these 500's? I know that the red and blue heads are indistructable. But how about these little 500's? Thanks!!!!!!!!! Dealer is adjusting track and topping off gas and oil!!!!! We will see how they are!!!!!

I have about 15 000 km on my 97 500xt and it still runs strong. No problems with it at all. It's just a little hard on gas and oil but other than that it's great.

We've got a 98 xtc 500 deluxe in the family and it has been great. It has about 8600 miles and has never had the engine apart or anything else but normal maintainance. My dad, gone for a few years now, was the original owner. My daughter rides it now. It will still do 98 mph on speedo easily and did 102 on speedo last year. I'm kind of curios what that is on radar. I don't think it's off as much as my viper. They don't have much low end power but they wind out pretty good on top end. I do have to say they get terrible milage. Ours only gets 7 - 9 mpg no matter what we do(clutching, gearing, riding style). I have not tried jetting down, but from what I have read on here that doesn't make a huge difference and I would rather not have to worry about wide open lake crossings on cold days. Sound like you got some good sleds besides the mpg thing.

Well I loaded them up and they are headed back to their place!! I only got to take a ride across the parking lot but they sure are nice!!!!! I forgot to get some pics so I will have to do it next time I am up at the cabin. I will post back. Well that it looks like they should be reliable for them by the looks of your guys sleds!! Thats good to hear. 102:eek: Wow!!! This summer I am going to take the skids out and see what I can find. But from what I gathered they have been serviced and taken care of.

500 is a nice little motor you may find she's hard on oil/gas but you what to do there,i would do rings soon too it's time,a xtc is a nice ride, pull skids this
summer and you'll find lots of worn out parts..lol, shounds nice. :)

the wifes '01 500 dlx will stay right with my 600xtc till 60ish then i pull out. quick little sleds when clutched right

Hard on gas is all I remember about mine too. Nothing like a triple as you have to work the throttle, not blip it. ;)
