No lights

This a 700 xtc '98 At first the lights would go dim and then go out but only on high beam,you could run it on low beam they were fine but the high beam would only run for a short time,now i have no lights at all and the tach only works when you push the dimmer switch to low beam...does anyone know what this could be?

Could be the head light beam switch and or lighting coil,you got a manual??

I would like to add that the tach and h+t warmers are working...do they run off of the lighting coil?

the tach backing light?, or the tach/needle it's self?

Both of these are working.
