Finally got to try the new 4 strokes. Rode an Apex RTX and a Nytro RTX SE. Sorry to say I'm not impressed at all. Keeping the SRXZX2. Maybe do some front end work. ie. lightweight components and maybe some Fox Floats.

May look at a XRS in a couple of years if Yamaha doesn't come up with something more intriguing.

I bought a xtx last week, lots of fun, I think it all depends on what you're looking for. I rode my buddy's sxr a couple of weeks ago and have to say I have no interest in riding a sit down style sled ever again.

My SRX is no longer a sit down style sled with my custom Boss. I actually sit more upright than my friends REV. Maybe I'm just to locked into the tripple/tripple 700 motor.

The more I think about it, I tend to be driven by the engines. Had a Viper and always missed my SRX. Went back to an SRX and have been smiling ever since. Something about the Nytro power plant just didn't impress me. Very snappy at first touch of throttle, then a slight lull, then a pull. Nothing for smoothness like the SRX. The Apex I rode felt better, but the braking noise drove me nuts and it felt heavy.

Oh well, as long as I'm happy with my SRX, I guess it really doesn't matter. Maybe I need more seat time with the 4 strokes. So many people like them and I wasn't even close to liking them.

I rode one last weekend for about 100 miles and I have to say i was very very impresed, I was standing most of the time, trails where really really rough and I did not know or try to adjust the suspention for me and that sled rocked....Just my opinion....I started saving my pennies today....

My thought is that it is so much different that a test ride really doesn't do it. it takes some time to adjust to the different style, but once you do I think most people would love one. took me some time to adjust to my fathers vector but once I did it is a great sled, and thats in the old rx style chassis :) put some good miles on a friends apex and it is a great sled, way better than my viper and smoother and faster than the srx I rode a while back. not that I don't LOVE my viper and the srx is a great sled too. just saying they are different, in a long-winded way ;)
