This is a tough one. If you search on here every Yamaha made will smoke a 800R. If you read on the doo site nothing can touch the 800R. IMO it depends on the race. On a lake the SRX will take it on top end. In a normal trail race the XP will win. I have rode both but not against each other. So I say find a 800R and run it. Video tape it too, lol.

I'd say the srx would take it. however the doo is ALOT lighter then the srx, and it has 155 hp. It would be a good race.

yes the xp is light....the only thing about doo (don't know if it applies to the xp) there is alot of friction in there chassis. (at least the rev) the ones i have rode seem to slow very quickly, even my buddy with the mach z was very impressed with the lack of rolling resistance with the srx ...

We have run trail stock 2000 ft radar runs all season and have yet to be beaten by an XP... Most of the ones I have seen ran around 110mph, a well set up SRX will run 115 to 120 in 2000ft..

yea i can see them being good hill climb sleds. stand em strait up the wholllle way!
One of the guys I ride with has a 2008 800R Renegade XP. Along with a friend on a 2009 Nitro , we just got back from a 300 mile ride today.[typically,we do about 3000-4000 miles /season]We always run the sleds against each other some where along the ride. Last year and early this year I could beat the 800R in a drag race as well as top end, [and at the gas pumps]. In January the SkiDoo seized after one of our regular wide open 10+ mile lake runs at -30c. The sled was repaired on waranty and since he got it back he can now run me down on the lake.[my 2002 SRX has a 144" 1 1/4 full clip ripsaw on it so it is not overly fast on top end] Today was no different...0c hard pack icy trails ,the 800R ran 110mph today on GPS, Nitro XTX 144 ran 102...I couldn't get over 105mph.[I have been struggling with top speed issues since I put this SRX together]

so what did he have done to it after it seized?

Thats what emmediately comes to mind...but I know him well...he flips his Ski Doos every two years and never spends money on any perf improvements, unloads them as soon as his warranty is done. I think the 800R was "sick" from early last season and now is running as it should after beeing rebuilt.

yep that is really good to hear, just stay away from the deep powder with the SRX,otherwise they should beat you since they are lighter.
