Has anybody turbocharged a 700 mountain max? I have seen a lot of two stroke polaris turbo sleds but never a two stroke yamaha with a turbo. If you have one lets see it and some numbers.

its really strange nobody ever turbo'd a mountain max 700 because thats the most reliable 2 stroke around. i think they would be pretty close to 200 hp with a turbocharger. ive been lookin around for one of these for a couple years and all i found was that aerocharger made one for the 97 mm 700 but it took out the crank fast so they stoped doing it (97 red head triples had the bad cranks to start with). in the next year or two im gonna put one on my MM.

one of the biggest problems is that its a carburated motor. pain in the arse to change jets all the time. it would be a sweet setup though if you could make it work. i would think a holzman or similar product would help but they are setup to run with an airbox, not sure how that would work with a pressurizd intake. too bad yamaha never fuel injected a tripple.

Dan Richter had one a few years ago. Apperantly it did not work out well for him. There is a little footage of the Turbo MM in one of the earlier Mountain Mod Mania videos.

Well I was thinking about putting a turbo on my 944 just because I can. I don't think it would be too hard to run "IF" you could get the baseline jetting to run and then use power jets and a wideband lambda readback to keep everything running crisp. If no on one else has but a turbo on a 700mm and had good experience I doubt I will try it.

Sent you a PM on SW.
I have a MM 700 Aero 53 T sled. Not dialed in yet, but seems to work.
As to jetting I've used Powerjets.
A/F guage, EGT, Water-temp (inlet and outlet), RPM. Feel protected.
Clutching will be a pain in the *** though, Running a Heelclicker HC-X and heavy hitters.
Not even got close to good _yet_. Waiting on a new helix and primary spring.
Setup:
Billet head 25cc domes homemade copper gasket
Airbox from a XLT
Intercooler (small one)
Stock carbs and reeds.
Singel piped
Some case porting done but stock cylinders.
Running a Aero 53 at aroung 8psi.

There is also some footage on Thunderstruck 3 of him and his turbo 700, it sure sounds crisp and revs fast in the video.TRIPLESWILLNEVERDIE! said:Dan Richter had one a few years ago. Aerocharger started testing a turbo kit for the 700 when yamaha first came out with it in a SX. First one they started making boost power and knocked the crank out of time on the dyno. They didn't think the stock crank will stay in time so stop testing and never made a turbo kit. They did have some turbo 600SX twins that made 200hp+ at the same time, so they really didn't need 700 kit.

Hows the turbo running?
Total stand-still... Converted it to stock during spring break. Didn't get it to run before a longer trip so decided to run it stock then (pipes and so on).
Now my studdeis killing me, have 3 weeks left in school after that it's summer break and I will have some more time for the sled.
Fire up will take place before 24th of june, my own dead line!

Hi boys,
Sold my chassie as a rolling chassie and bought me a Vector turbo.
BUT! Still have the MM700 engine and turbo kit. Just won't have money or time this summer to put it together.
Didn't I have a job and a BIIIG pile of $$$ I would countinued this summer.
But will keep the engine and turbo kit (have everything I need).
So when money and times comes I'll buy a chassie (prob. IQr or Rev)
