winter over..maybe not..

there is a major storm coming thru from a Colorado low,pushing northward.After midnight and into WED and THUR up to 10-15 cm of the white stuff.That is 4 to 6 inches of snow.That would be great,one last boot on the sleds,but not so great for the Flood situation.Supposed to be high winds and probably white outs.Right this moment it is -5C,winds from the North at 43 Km/h with freezing drizzle.I can only pray,and temps in to the minus range going into next week.It ain't over till it's over.Got a tank of gas ready to go.

John dee is predicting the possibility for three major storms to roll through the midwest between now and April 3rd. Maybe we can get another ride in!

It is still snowing out,but the winds took most of it away.I imagine the ditches are drifting in.Had to go do a kitchen install in a new house about 1 1/2 hours from my house.Got to my partners house which took about an hour,pure ice coating on Hwy's from the freezing rain that fell first.Was only doing 60-65 km's/hr.From his house he figured would be over an hour at a slow pace.We cancelled the install because it would be to late and we would be coming back in the dark.The City was crazy for driving also.Had to snowblow a 2' snow drift right across the garage and turn around.If this snow would have fallen with no wind at all,it would be better.I will see tomorrow if it is worth starting up the 600 to ditchbang.Ditches are full of water(ice now),hopefully I won't bust thru the ice.It is rough all around because of the melt earlier.It is supposed to snow all night and tomorrow,so I hope I can rip around a bit,but going to be icy under the snow.

i'm done with the snow this season, got my miles on and sled is summerized. any more snow is just a burden now. there is not a trace of snow anywhere around here anymore... maybe a few little piles of it where big piles once stood from plow trucks.


They already pulled stakes around here last weekend, so trails opening is a no go, so hoping for snow is pointless now.

I went out today and put on 18 miles ditchbanging.With all the drifting from the winds that we are getting..it is a hard time riding.Sled was totally covered in snow and me to.My visor kept frosting and fogging up everytime snow hit my visor..crap.Hitting slush and breaking thru to water in many places.Stopped at one point and got stuck,track was spinning while front end was pushing snow..but eventually got out with a little digging and some throttle work.

It was a great day for riding.I put on 70 km's with the 600.Snow was great and heavy in the ditches.Went up to the bridge in St. Adolphe.Here is a pic or two of the bridge.

There were 3 sleds running the Hwy today.But I was the first one to make the tracks.It was a fun day for sure and nice and mild to ride.

But it is snowing again...winter is not ending here.Snow today and tomorrow and the temps are staying in the minus's..wow.I may take out my sled again for another ride yet,just got to get more gas.

man the snow just keeps on coming down,can't even see the cars on the Hwy when they pass by.Going love firing up the sleds again.Will put on a few more miles for sure.
