I have heard good things about JAWS pipes. Has anyone had any experience with them? I am currently looking for a set for my 700 SRX.
Thanks.

jaws makes pipes for a 700 srx? they make a set for a viper, but i'm unsure of them making a set for a 700 srx. the power inc pipes are the only ones that really made a hp gain on a srx and even those were minimal hp gains. of course there's bender big bore pipes and hauck howlers, but those aren't for the stock trail sled. i've never heard anything bad about jaws. i always heard they make good stuff. never ran any of their stuff personally.

The sled won't be riden on trails. Kind of just for running on the lake.

unless your going to do some major engine mods, keep the stock ones on. your good to 165 or 170 hp with stock pipes, now if your looking for a horny sound look at a bender or power inc. can. imo
I called jaws awhile back about srx pipes and they said the only pipes they made for the srx were strictly race pipes. Maybe where your just doing lake runs, they may be an option.. good luck

I have a set of hand built Jaws on a raced prepped SRX7, they work very well.

The pipes that Jaws makes for an SRX must be fitted into the chassis. It's a big job, with a fairly big price tag. They are HR series pipes that are generally designed to make power between 9800 rpm and 10200 rpm. There are a few sets floating around, but it is hard to find people willing to part with them.
Unless you decide to build a full race motor, my advice is to stick with the stock pipes.

Ryan,
I took your advice and contacted Iantomasi. I am dropping the sled off next week. They are going to wake up the motor a little. I am thinking the pipes would be a nice touch.

.........all depending on how much they wake up your motor. Talk to Gerry about the pipes, based on the port work he is going to do.

I have spoken with Gerry. He is the one that talked me into ther pipes. I won't be running pump gas.

Well, then have greg build you a set. I'm pretty sure he'll need your chassis to fit them, unless you can buy the pipes from him, and have someone closer to you fit them. Give Greg at Jaws a call, he'll get you going. He also has a superflow dyno there, so if you go there to get them fitted, you can do some dynotime as well. The phone number for Jaws is (613) 489-5297.

Thanks Ryan. I am leaving the sled with Gerry for pretty much all summer. At first I wanted to stay with the stock pipes, but I thought I might as well do it right.

did you forget about the cdi box?
he has a srx. the high rpm jaws pipes need a high rpm cdi - won't work w/ srock cdi. as you know hauck is the only shop that still has srx high rpm boxes & he will only sell them if you by his pipes w/ it. the bender big bore pipes use the stock cdi.

I didn't forget, Bob. I mentioned that to him previously in a PM.
