diff in gas caps - if any

comparing my bud's nytro and my viper gas caps, i see the only diff is the viper cap has two tubes (?) on the underside and the nytro cap doesn't. anyone want to theorize as to the tubes and if you can switch caps? venting perhaps? or maybe nothing at all? also the viper gas cap was made in US which i thought was interesting.

are the two tube not for where on some of the lower end models like the phazers had the gas guage? the one that was attached to the cap

tubes re not needed. My aluminum cap from yamaha does not have them. If the thread is the same, and diameter the same they are inter changeable.
