Given the choice unstudded, which would you choose for high speed well groomed rail road bed and mostly well groomed trail riding.
I am leaning towards the hacksaw figuring to should be less mass to turn and should be worlds better than the 6000 mile stock track that's on my SRX now.

The 1 1/4 bites a lot!
Put the ripsaw on my SRX this year and put 1,000 miles on this year. I wish I would have done it earlier.

I had a 1.25 predator with studs, I took them out because of the weight and damage. That track was still awesome even without studs! I know a bunch of guys that put Ripsaws in and love them. I just put a 136 ripsaw in my 600, will test next season.

If you are not going to stud, the Ripsaw. The Ripsaw has awesome traction on hard pack.
If the groomed trails and rail/road beds become icy (like they do up here) than the Hacksaw with 144 studs would be a better choice.

Looks like it is leaning towards Ripsaw......It is imperative that we bury the dream-O-meter....
I am leaning away from the studs. When I toasted my suspension, I can't even imagine the damage that would have been done to everything. I know when I look at the tunnel I will find where the rubber on aluminum was rubbing. The amount of "rubbing" was a sound that I will not soon forget.
I have 2 triples unstudded and one with. I can go either way, but figure going well over 110+ mph on the dream -O- meter is good enough. I actually like the feel of being kind of loose on the corners.

Triple X, you had to throw a bit more of doubt into the picture. I has thinking 96 down the center and Hacksaw, but have been really leaning to clean rubber....

unless the snow is really loose, you're going to have a relatively hard time getting it to break free in a corner with a ripsaw. I never really noticed, but some of my riding buddies I converted to the ripsaw told me their arms were sore for the first few rides using the ripsaw. This could be in part because their suspensions weren't set up right and the previous tracks masked it, I don't know. Either way, the ripsaw is the way to go. Especially now that they are single ply, the top end loss would be minimal.
Without running studs for the srx I prefer a 1" six pitch, IE predator, now called the curve... Lug patern is good for hookup and also for top speed, as it has less wind resistance then the ripsaw.. Hacksaw is best,., (when studded)... For trails & speed.. Off trail ,,, maybe ripsaw,, but no experience with those,, I here they are prone to lug tears for my style of ridding...

Well Richie....it's looking like you need to bring me a 121"X15" Ripsaw. I will give you a call either Sunday or Monday AM. Thanks to all who voted!
Now I will be waiting for a long time for snow!!!

Sounds good......talk to you then.
You won't beat the preditor track(curve)for al around performance. I have given away 2 ripsaws to buy preditors
I had CB performance remove my 1.25 inch Ripsaw and install a 1 inch Hacksaw with 96 studs up the middle. I ride the Northwoods of WI. and the UP. I have no regrets, period.

I have this exact set-up on my wife's viper and it is awesome on all around trail conditions.
Oh, too late I see you have the ripsaw
