This question my be a bit stupid but here goes...
Are you manipulating the oil pump to give more than it should to coat the inside of the engine or do you use an external source of oil to spray into the manifold while running, if so is it some special oil that can be bought in spray cans?

I personally use an engine fogger. It comes in a aerosol can,, I remove the air box and spray into the carbs with engine running, alternating from carb to carb for about one minuet or until you cant breath anymore. (lots of white smoke). I then pour about 2 ounces of oil down plug holes and spin crank shaft by hand to coat cylinders. I then drain and clean carbs after that since the air box is already removed. Lot of people wait till just before season starts to clean the carbs, but I find it easier to do it at this time as they will not have the chance to gum up from sitting through out the summer..

Quicker then removing the airbox is to take the boost bottle off and put two corks with holes in them on the manifold. Start the engine and then spray the stuff down the holes in the cork. Of course if you don't have a boost bottle then this does not work.
Oh, okay I see. Thanks for the clarifcation.

Use regular fogging oil it's made for the job,,it has rust inhibitors in it to help protect the metal/steel parts in side your motor.
