Is it worth to get a boost bottle for a single piped MM? Will you pick up any low end?

i was thinking of that also theres a page on here that give you the specs to make your own or have someone make it for you

on the hartman website they claim 8-10 hp on bottom end and 3-4 on top end and alot better throtle response. not sure if its true. im gonna try it out this summer and find out

I couldn't see that on the hartman site any more. All I could see was the text. Maybe the hp claim is with porting and pipes? Please let me know if you find the boost bottle on their site, or you call them. Thanks

i just checked the site and i cant find it either. looks like they updated the site. before it showed a picture of the boost bottle and said it gains 8-10 hp bottom and 3-4 top with the stock redhead 700 motor.

i used one on my venture and my viper. not sure on extra power, added it with a few other things, it does help with the oil in the airbox and on top of tunnel.

I want 100 for it, pm me with location for shipping

i scraped my viper, then used it on my superventure, then scraped that. im done with 2 strokes, I have seen the light, and there is no 2smoke in the way of it.

How does a Boost Bottle improve performance? Air rushes thru the carb on the intake cycle. Ignition accelerates the piston down, forcing the reeds to snap shut. The momentum (inertia) of the air has to go someplace. It goes back thru the carb causing a double rich mixture. The result can be rough idle or hesitation.

Due to the high velocity of the fuel air mixture through the carb boot, we need to take advantage of this momentum/inertia energy. The Boost Bottle and tube provide storage for the fuel air mixture between carb boots. The energy (pulse) forces the pre-atomized mixture in the tube from the previous cycle into the adjoining carb boot where the reeds are just opening and ready to receive the fuel air mixture. The boost bottle and tube provide a "boost" supercharge effect to each cycle.

The boost bottle is most effective at lower and mid-range rpm, and, when you are on & off the throttle. It assists in filling the cylinder (shorter distance) for a fraction of a second until the carburetor venturi gets enough velocity to fully atomize the fuel. The advantage is that it brings up the torque and horsepower in the bottom of the rpm range, up to where the pipe(s) starts to work. There is a small benefit at high rpm's.

What Size? Singles = usually the CC of one cylinder or larger. 700cc Twins = 300cc boost bottle. 700cc Triples = 225cc.

Variables: Engine CC's, Carb Size, RPM below pipe, Number of cylinders. Large carbs like larger bottles/tubes. Triples like smaller due to less time between pulses.
Power valve engines may not have similar performance gains because the valves will keep the bottom end crisp. Testing w/ powervalves will probably show gains off idle and low bottom end. Is it worth it?? That depends on what you are willing to pay for some torque and a couple of horses!

I have used a bottle on all my ported red heads with great sucess, what i did notice is that round tubes transfer mixture much better as a cyclone if you will , than square tubes .

Thanks. I'll see what I do. There's a lot of hassle putting it on. Srx steering coloumn (so carbs wont rub against the colomn), possibly new coils that mount on the airbox, airbox upper half possibly?

you can mount your coil packs on the front of the head with the stock mount. the holes are even correct. an updated steering pole is a great add on anyway, stronger and easier to remove carbs if your a tuner. When i did mine, all i did was install thick washers under the rear mounts to lift the carbs up a little as the boots used are a different angle, then I turned my boots in my air box to line up. first year i used the stock straight handle bar pole, second year i changed it out because I had one.

round or flat, it is not going to make a difference, the pulse is still taking right angle turns into and out of a chamber, weather the chamber is round or square wont matter.

these are a tight fit against the tors switch and can wear through if not installed properly and a thin piece of plastic place between.
