780 pistons

Are they new 73mm pistons .004" bigger than ther 72.9mm? Talked to don pizor and said they were bigger.

I spoke to Wiseco directly about a week ago. The rep told me the exact same size 72.9 and the 73. It doesn't make sense but I asked the same question. Last time I purchased at $93. each now they are $131.

The 72.90mm pistons have always used a 73mm ring, the new piston part number is: 2455Mo7300 still uses the same 2874CD ring like it always has. When this cancelled part number, discontinued piston news all came about, I called Wiseco and was given incorrect sizes on the phone. After getting a new piston and mic'ing it, its the same, just new part number and size listing.

These new 73mm pistons will interchange with the old 72.90mm ones, so all the 780 guys can breathe easy again. ;)!

yes, they have increased the pricing like everything else :o|

The new 73mm pistons measure IDENTICAL on the micrometer to the 72.9mm pistons. They are the same weight and take the same rings. All Wiseco did was jack up the price to a retail price of $130 or so dollars now. I can get the new pistons if anyone needs them.
Im looking for a piston kit and two sets of rings, can you get the rings?
