Summer is here and it's time to do the track replacement. Going to go with a 1.25 ripsaw and 8 tooth drivers for clearance. I am also going to put in my reverse kit. Here is the question. How much will the 8 tooth drivers effect my gearing? Since the reverse kit bottom gear is pretty much set, do I need to change the top gear to compensate for the 8 tooth drivers? I believe I have a 21 tooth top gear. Should I go to 19 or 20? Sled is a 2001 sxr 500.

You will have to gear it up by .20 for the 8t drivers. If you were at 1.65 go to 1.45 will be close. If you had 21 top you would need a 24 for example.
