I've done a search and can't find any info on changing the pads. How difficult is it and is there a post on it I can't locate?

It's quite easy. There are just two 12mm bolts that hold the calipers on.

How long on average do the pads and rotor last?

i have 18000 miles on my viper and need only need to change them this year
2000 - 10000+ miles - how much do you use them? Riding hard corner to corner in twisties can use them up in a hurry (2000 miles). Once they heat up, they wear quickly like most things.ryanryan said:
