Hey guys, got a 97 SX 700 triple tore apart and I'm wondering how to time it when I put it back together. Never had to time one before so im clueless. Thanks.

It is done off the key on the crank where the flywheel goes. The rest is done in the CDI from the pulse off the pulse coil.

There is no timing adjust other than a different CDI. It is what it is!

OK what do you exactly mean by the key on the crank where the flywheel goes? Are you saying it only goes one way? Like I said I've never had to time one before when I put it back together.

You can slot the screws that hold the pick up in place & move it counter clockwise to advance timing.

I'm keeping this stock. I think I have it figured out. I'll be back if I can't figure it out at assembly time.
