I just started stripping the paint. But I want some opinions on the polishing. Just polish by hand with mothers aluminum polish or with a high speed buffing wheel and maybe a different compound. I have a Makita wheel, mothers polish, all sorts of rubbing compound. but no experience with metal polishing. any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks Jason

Depending on what kind of condition your metal is in you may need a fine sand paper. I have used 1500 grit wet sandpaper to get that real mirrior shine.
I just polished mine I order a polishing kit with different polishing compounds from eastwood co. and I used a 4-1/2 grinder with a buffing wheel started with the course compounds and worked up to the fine compounds its a lot of work but well worth the effort. I have to give mine one more fine polish but I am waiting to get some of the sled together. If your interested go to the working log and view my thread on 98sx project sled I posted some pictures of tunnel before and after polishing. Good luck.
