Well it has been some time since the sleds were started and moved to the storage shed.Since the Flood out here, they have been sitting in my garage collecting dust.Yesturday was a good day to wash, grease and fog them.
My 1976 Artic Cat started in 5 pulls(great),my SX600R started in 9 pulls(not bad) and the famous 2002 SRX started in 19 pulls(what the?)
Ran the SXR down the lawn and couldn't resist a little to give her.Lifted front end a good 3 feet and cat walked her. Then the SRX was even better.Decided to go the opposite way so I could get more of a run with it.Just barely touch the throttle and she was jumping up..love it's power.Turned it around and cranked it a few times.WOW!!!She just shot forward and the ski's went up.Did this about 5 times.Man I sure can't get over the power of the SRX..felt good to pin her again. It is so instant and response is quick.Only problem is I have a few spots in the lawn that the grass has been torn out.Oh well it will grow back.

oh yea i like doin that evry once in awhile =) 19 pulls jeez mines always starts in the first 3 pulls... =) wonder why??..

it wasn't in the water firstly. Most SRX's are hard to start after sitting for a month.Carbs must go dry or something.I will try the trick of shutting off the shut off valve after a days run, just to see if it will start faster once I turn the valve back on the next time I go riding. That will be my homework next season and I will post on it.

Nearing the end of May and you are still playing with the sleds....sweet... I think a shut off valve might be a good solution. Another sugestion, would a fuel pump off a Viper work on the srx? I dont think the fuel can drain back through those pumps. My machine always starts on the first turn of the key and if its sat for a long time maybe 2 key turns...

I like the check valve idea, more so than a primer. But why do some start easier than others?? There must be something different in the fuel system plumbing on them....

Primer

something like this should work.It is in around $22.00.
