check this out!!!!!!!

good deal! wanna sell those ohlins front shocks? i'll trade you for my standard ones plus some cash if you like?

It's going to be worth a call at least. I've herd of the problems with craigslist thats why i always see before i buy. Besides i got to get it by the wife first anyhow. She did let me get the first viper lets see about this one.

That thing is turbocharged.. It doesnt hardly say anything about the turbo.. Sounds like a scam to me..

It dosnt say anything about being turbo charged,It says, Turbocharged:No. Its one of those forms that you just fill in the blanks.I dont think it is a scam, like said above times are hard these days, sound like a smokin deal to me! But then again just use your common sense, if you can physically see it then you can buy it. Right? Good luck in your purchase, Let us know if you got it or not.

Viper for sale in MI

Who says this is a scam????? I really, really highly doubt it at all. It's the end of May and the guy is selling a 5 year old sled. The modifications probably decrease the value to anybody but we TY'ers reading this...... Sorry to say something you did not want to hear. We who know better and are interested in Yamaha Vipers look at this and think that it's way too good of a deal -- but in Flint, MI right now (Inside the worst recession ever seen there before......) that is probably just the going rate ---- and remember it's still available even at that price. So pick it up at a great price and help the guy out!!!!

+1 that is what I was trying to explain,I am about 20 minutes north of Flint,I see the recession first hand! I see nothing about a turbocharger. What are you reading welterracer??

Looks like it might be honest, but if the guy says anything about shipping it, and that he's away in Africa on business right now etc etc., it's a pure scam!
I've responded to some of those ads, and get a responses like that more often that some of you might think.
If you can go see it, go buy it!

I finally got a chance to call on the sled. Sounds like a great deal. Heading down wensday with cash in hand to check it out. Wish i could go this weekend but i work nights and i'm working through tues night. I'll let you know how it goes!!!!!!!!!!!! Even got the WIFE'S blessing, cant go wrong with that.

Sounds like a good deal. But walk don't run on this one. I have to read this one over again, but in a Summer bad economy like we have I can see the price.

Bought it!!!!!!

Just picked it up this evening. Sled was as advertised, its real clean. Just have to clean it up and a few touch ups and put it away for the summer. Bought it from a real nice guy, only thing is he just bought a new skidoo 800. We cant save em all.

Nice sled... You got yourself a good deal... Enjoy... As for the doo change up for the guy, he will be crying when he blows it up after a few runs...lol...

Thanks guy's. I've never had a sled with pipes, clutch work ect.... is their anything i need to look out for. Its also rejetted for the pipes. I know all the work was done by a qualified mechanic so it should be set up right. I guess i'll know for sure when i get it on the snow this winter. It has simmons pipes, heavy hitter clutch work and v force 3 reeds and the jetting.

Find out if the heads were re chambered. Vipers have high compression in two of the three cylinders at 13.5 to 1. The combination of the Simons CPR pipes (great pipes) stock heads and pump fuel will almost certainly be met with failure.
The fix is easy. Sent the head out to be machined all three chambers the same at increased cc like 24.5 or 25cc. Anything less and pump fuel becomes an issue.

Or get an after market head to replace stock head..... I replaced stock with the Peak Performance Head (Mountain Performance Inc. version) and I'm very happy with it. With sufficient snow and moving, my temps stay very cool........ But there are several aftermarket head choices out there. And then you can pick what cc dome you'd like.

I just personally did not want to go through the time and expense of sending the stock head out for machining, was quicker to purchase new head. But with triple pipes, replacing head/modding is very important.

Mike
