ok guys, simple question. I want to extend my 97 SX 700 to either a 136" or 141", how much would it cost all together (track included) and how big of a pain is it to install?

Cost is going to depend on a lot of things. New parts or used being the biggest variable. Track - used figure $300 or so. You'll need a tunnel extension, longer hoses, depending on the tunnel extension you might have to mod your rear cooler to make it fit. For the suspension, a set of rail extensions will work, a different skid will make it work better (my opinion anyway). Depending on the lug height or if you change pitch you may need different drivers. If you decide to do it I've got a 136 polaris skid from a newer switchback that I'd sell. It's got about 200 miles on it. I'd like $400 plus shipping with the stock rear wheels and axle or $500 with the MMP axle and the 8" wheels.
i gave $150 for a 136x1.25 track off craigslist
bout $100 w/ shipping for rail extensions
$35 for new slides- needed them anyway
dont know about tunnel extension yet. probably going to fab my own for a lot cheaper than the normal cost.

Find a oem tunnel ext off a Mountain Max.
I used tracks usa rail ext. Just because they accept the hyfax the length of the extension. Might be an option to find 141 rails for cheap.
Track's can be found used for cheap.
If you replace the track is a good time to replace your bearings (chaincase/drive shaft) pending on your mileage on your sled.
If you wind up going to anti ratchet drives. PM me I have a diagram for the placement of the drives on the drive shaft.

I think I paid around $120 for a used 144" Hacksaw off of a AC 2up. $30 dollars for two boogey wheels. Made rail extensions and tunnel extension at work. Cut rear cooler and laid it flat and had a coworker reweld it. New hyfax from a local Polaris dealer. The only thing I wish I would have done and will have to do is put anti rachet drives on. The only reason i didn't was I ran out of money and was running out of time before the snow flew.
Not the prettiest thing but I sure like it.
