Askin this for our watercross project.
So, are there any gains when lifting 570 Exciter cylinders? Ofcourse we´ll cut the heads to keep the compression.
Looking for peak hp and faster rev´s.

You may find the answer with horsepower figures at Dynotech. You will have to subscribe to get the information, but if you are building a race engine it will be well worth it. The archives will have performance mods as well as a cure for the early Exciter's bad habit of eating pistons.

The transpher ports already have a broad overlap. Raising them will not give you a higher peak HP. Raising and widening the exhaust is what you want to do. It wouldn't hurt to redirect the transphers.
There are a few books out there with the math necessary to figure port timing.
