Would I have any major problems with a 2 1/8" track on my MM with 8T extrovert drivers? Specifically, snow evacuation at the front of the tunnel and overall clearance, will that extra 1/8" make that much difference? Making the old girl longer and Tracks USA has a good deal on Polaris Series IV tracks right now.

Haven't done it, but I can't see where an 1/8th is going to be a deal breaker. I'm running a 2 1/8 finger track on my wife's mountain max and it works great, but the fingers range from 1.75 to 2 1/8 so it's not a direct comparison.

Any comments on the Polaris Series IV vs. say a camoplast challenger? Hook-up the same? One better vs. the other in certain conditions?

I read F-Bomb's trick on snowest, not for the faint of heart. I don't know if I could put screws into a brand new track. Maybe one that somebody gave me.....does seem like it would work tho.

I finally checked for myself the distance from front cooler to track, there is at MOST a 1/2 inch in there. Guess I'll stick with stock.

2 1/4

I run a 2 1/4 X 16 X 162 on mine and it massages me nicely at WOT. It sure is difficut to get in with the Extroverts but worth it for the mnts

i also looked in to this a fair bit for my 04 mtn viper. you can fit a 2.25 im told and a 16 wide if you grind down a few rivits by the chaincase but for snow evac your best to do a drop n roll. youd have lots of room then. most patterns for the d&r are bout $100 and you just change the holes your axles go through. weld the old ones shut. and may have to modify your chaincase slightly to fit.

installed the 159 x 2 1/8 track from tracks usa on my 02 mm, had no problems, talk to tom at hartmans and he will set you up with everything to install this track on your machine, he runs the same thing on his sled, floats on powder and climbs like crazy, best thing i have done on this sled, it is gaered down, has v-force reeds and bender tripl pipes, 6000 troublefree miles and this is my low mileage sled

sorry to take so long guys. Van Amburg was offering me a pattern. phone 509 225 6681 or do a search for van amburg snowmobiles. if i remember irght they said it would move ur driveshaft about 1inch back and 1 down or maybe 3/4inch donw??? its been several months sine i talked to them though. could also try mountain performance. (i dont have number tho) or Fabraft @ 406 777 1200 they have some pretty knowlidgeable staff.

My friend ran the serious IV on my MM with 8t extros just fine. it is a soft paddel tho.. I also had ported the track 3- 1.25" holes in the center and 1- 7/8" on the outsides of the windows, 5 total holes across each row.. NEVER had any issues with tunnel pressure.
