loosening limiter straps

Hi, i have a 2000 sxr 600 and was wondering how to loosen the limiter straps...do i just loosen the bolt and loosen the strap and then tighten the bolt back up..if so how far can i loosen the straps...PICTURES WILL BE APPRECIATED

just back off the nut on the threads,this makes the straps longer(loosening).Depends what you are looking for,you can adjust for less weight on the ski`s or for more if you tighten them up.
