i am having trouble finding a throttle extension for a 99 mountain max. everything i find is for cat, poo, doo. the other one listed is for 4 stroke yammers only. a little help???

Not to be mean, but why on Earth would you want to add a 6" block riser to a 99? That will put the bars in your crotch when you stand up to ride and be really uncomfortable. Put a pivot on it so you can get them up in the air and not back in you lap.

its my cousin's sled. it has a 2" on it now and its just not enough. his theory is that "pivots will pivot when rode hard"!! i will have to check out the angle of that post when i get home.

I don't know, but there are tons of people running pivot risers that use their machines pretty hard. On the rare occassion I get mine to slip, I'm usually glad it did as it keeps me from taking the bars to belly. 99% of the time it's rock solid.

True. Check with RSI. I think they sell a knurled crossbar for the pivot that is quite a bit cheaper than some of the other pivot adapters on the market.

Check with Ole's. I have seen their block risers and they look great. They are angle cut on the bottom so the amount of rise is pretty much straight up and not at the rider.

found a riser. my cousin picked it out. went with a 5" non pivot. ok, next question. what about a throttle extension. i am finding them and they say that they will work for yamaha's that don't have a dual cable. so, does this sled have a dual cable?

anybody have a link to a throttle cable extension that will fit this 99 mm 700?

Most Yamaha's have a single cable to a rod on the carbs that turns all three. Later models that is. Mountain Performance Inc had cables. RSI maybe.

here is the one from RSI

Extend you stock throttle cable 10”

Allows you to raise your handlebars to a comfortable standing position level.

Inline adjuster fine tunes tension and slack.
Universal ends allow for quick and easy installation on all Arctic Cat, Polaris, and Ski Doo models
New model works on Yamaha four stroke models only.
NOTE* Does not fit 2007 Arctic Cat F-Series Sleds. The Yamaha extension only works on fuel injected snowmobiles not carburated.

didn't find one on mtn perf

this is straight from powermadd's website.

Throttle Cable Extension Kit FAQ's

Q: How difficult is this kit to install on my snowmobile?

A: This kit requires no adjustments to the carburetors or throttle body! Simply disconnect the throttle cable at the throttle lever, attach our kit to the end of the stock cable and reattach to the throttle lever.

Q: Will the Throttle Cable Extension kit work on Yamaha snowmobiles?

A: Yes, but you need to order the Yamaha model - 13595. Yamaha 4-stroke snowmobiles have only one cable going to the throttle block, therefore you will need only one extension. The throttle extension does not work on the dual cable 2-stroke models.

so, i know damn well that there are a lot of guys with tall bars. what did you guys buy?

I went with new cables and brake line. Got the cables from Darin at Gravity worx (Don't thinke he's in business now) and the brake line from the local dealer by way of WPS. PRetty sure that RSI now sells everything you need to do it right. In my opinion the proper way is to buy real cables and go that route. The extender deals are just a band-aid fix and cost almost as much as the proper cables will.

i was pointed in the direction of WPS and i think i am going to buy the SPI throttle 70-1089. its 20 bucks and should do everything i need.

HI I just got some from here. http://www.wps-inc.com/wps/WIHOME1.pgm

I converted a 98 SX700 to a mountain sled, prices are in check too.
You will have to find the nearest dealer.... else call and ask for Rich the tech guy, he is really cool and helpful.

I ditched the whole parking brake assembly and ended using the lever and master cylinder off from a cat. Now my parking brake is hydraulic like the other brands. Saved a ton of weight!

I too used cables from gravity works.
