Anyone know where I can by a michigan trail permit early? With the prices going up thought if I got one early wouldn't hurt as bad.

Well I had heard it was going up to $55 from $35 is this not true? I am glad to support the grooming trust me. I just thought if I bought it early makes the trip that much cheaper.

I dont believe even half of that trail permit $$ actually makes it to the clubs or groomers.. I didnt here about it going to 55, Far as i know its 35 this year.

It is $ 35.00, I picked mine up from the MSA tent, at Nelson's Snow Motion, 2 weeks ago. I get them at the show each year.

All i can say is THATS CHEAP we will be close to 2bills this year.

2 Bills.... Dam n I would be driving it to work everyday for that price, All of my cars registration dont add up to that much....

In think it was about 20 years ago we paid around $50 for a Ontario trail pass. It will cost you $250 after December 1st. So you save at $200 to buy early. So when my kids and wife are all running there own machines it will cost me $800. And if I buy late can you imagine $1,000 dollars more than a old decent running sled.

Here in Manitoba our earlybird price is $105. They are finally getting the insurance agents to sell them meaning that when we buy our insurance, we can buy them at the same time.

The reason for the increase is to purchase 30 ft wide areas of land on private and commerical land to make a permant trail system. I read this in the local Livonia Observer paper. I think $35 is not that bad after reading Canada pays 250?

SO for 35 bucks, what are Michigan trails like? I want input from someone who has ridden GOOD trails in ontario versus michigan trails.
Is it worth a trip? I know we went to Quebec once and it was great. wide open go time!
Do you have to go into the northern half of Michigan? That would be quite a drive for me.

Just wondering what the grooming and stuff is like for 35 bucks. ANy input is great.

We ride in MN, WI, MI, and IN. This year we are going to SD also. I beleive in all the states we ride in MI is the best. The grooming is good, we try to ride through the week. We have been cranking out around 2k miles per year. No major break downs at all. I am just curious about SD. We have ridden CO, and WY in the past and really wasn't that impressed. trail systems aren't interconnected enough, at least where we ran, Grand Lake area. Al
