Ok its been a while since ive posted on here but last season i went threw 4 belts in about 500 miles 3 of the belts were old that i got with the sled 1 was brand new its seems that the belts keep shredding in to little chunks but the new belt first had the left side started to rip apart like it was waring out that side more then ripped in to about 4000 Million peaces. and ideas? snow is coming soon and i wanna be ready to play.

It sounds like your clutch alignment is off. Get yourself an alignment bar. Also, pull your secondary apart and check to see if it is binding.

keep in mind this winter.
Something I learned is you NEED to warm up the belt. I know it's hard when your buddies are watching that you need to get on and roost away. There is too much power in these machines to do that. It stretches the cold belt and 10 minutes down the trail it grenades. First two minutes try to not go much over half throttle. Then giver! It works, trust me.

Also, check out your clutching setup. Mine was not stock and the secondary was set too soft on the twist which I believe was allowing belt slippage too.
Belts are expensive so taking it to someone who knows clutching...worth it. And you will also learn too!

Had this happen to mine-would go about 80 miles on a new belt, found the fixed sheave on the primary clutch was warped. use a straight edge on yours and check.

Hope this helps

I had a similar issue a few years ago while playing in the UP. Ended up finding one of the face plates on my primary had cracked. I was told that this happens from time to time(sled has about 5k on it) so I put on a new clutch and no issues since.
