Hi all
I want to remove the oil pump from my ´89 Phazer. There is nothing wrong with it, I just like to keep things simple :-)
Has anyone here done this? If so what is the best way to do this? Just remove the pump and manufacture a plate/lid to seal up the hole (and of course seal the reed valve assy) ? The engine is now sitting on my workbench so accessing the pump is easy.
Also what is a good premix ratio? I was thinking 1:30 would be a save bet, any advice/comments?

undefinedWhen you take the oil pump out I think your tach drive will be gone also. I know when the pump quits your tach also quits.
Just a thought.

Just my $0.02, the simplest thing to do would be to leave the pump in place. I think 30:1 would be a bit rich.
