Can someone give me some pointers? I'm changing my track this weekend. I appear to have all the parts, bearings and seals and stuff. to remove the drive axel does the whole chain case need to be removed or just the sprockets and chain? If anyone can provide me with some hints that would be great... and if there is anything else i should be changing at the same time?

You have to pull the entire chaincase to take out the drive axel. Just make sure to check all the bearings while you have this all apart. A very common bearing to fail is the one on the left side of the drive axel (under the secondary clutch, behind the speedo housing), so make sure to check this one. Other than that, the job is pretty self explanatory, if you need help figuring out which way the spacers and everything go back in the chaincase, look at the diagrams on yamaha-motor.com under parts. Good luck, and enjoy the new traction
