I have a 98SRX 700 that I long tracked and got set up the way I want for the most part but would like a dual beam head light on it. How hard/is it realistic to chnage to the dual beam head light?
big job cause its not the same electrical system..u can't run the dual headlamp with stator from 98-99
The stator output varies greatly, I think the dual headlight SRX have a 200 or 300 watt system, the 98-99. have half that. It can be done a couple different ways but it is not easy. You can run the dual headlight and only one bulb...But that is less than ideal.

Thanks for the input. Guess I'm not going to go down that road. Maybe I'll have to pick up a 01 and buid another this time maybe with a 144 tip up.

Haven't got the headlight assembly in yet. My wrench is working on getting me one from a buddies wrecked sled. When you said not to go over 35w ea how does that work for the high beams then? Also with the dual lights giving a total of 70w is it much brighter than a hyper white bulb single? Thanks.780srxgeorge said:hay jason did it work?

What size are the high beams? Can you get those 35w bulbs you have in a hyper white/sylvania type bulb color?

Where did you get the bulbs and what brand are they? I have a dual light on my 99 and I would like to run 2 bulbs. I haven't been able to find 35W only 55-60.780srxgeorge said:i got 99 700 with dual lights.i used two 35w-35w.about 15.buck a bulb.works GREATT

The 35w bulbs were the stock bulbs on the Yamaha FZ600s motorcycle 1986-1988. You may have to get them from Yamaha...I know thats where I had to get them for our FZ660 BB. Another suggestion would be to run the 55-60s and cut the low beam prong off one bulb + the high beam prong off on the other so only one bulb works at a time[ie: left bulb for low beam - right bulb for high]...I have done this on most of my twin headlight bikes as well as my 2002 SRX to keep the charging system demand low.

I was looking at the yamaha fiche for the FZ600 and the headlights are 35 W but it doesn't say if they are the H4 style bulb. Are they H4 or something else. Thanks
