I'm doing an engine swap on an 87 phazer and I have some questions about the project.
I am changing the gear oil in the sled and when I took the cover off, the spring tension is very loose and chain moves in and out about half an inch...is it supoosed to move sideways? It seems like it is built that way. Also what should the tension be like? What gear oil should be ran?
Thanks

There is an adjustable tensioner. Loosen the jam nut and tighten the screw with your fingers until resistance is felt.
Use 80-90 gear lube.

yes. there is suppose to be a little horizontal play in the chaincase gears.

Okay thanks i thought so but wasn't sure...
with the oil tank, there is what? I think 6 outlets/inlets...can anyone explain where the hoses go to and come from with those?
I think I know where a couple of them go but it has been 5 years since I tore the old engine out, any help or a diagram or something would be great.
