I took your advice and replaced my head gasket with the 8mm .I also replaced the mag side piston and rings . Compression is now 127 psi on both cylinders . I had a chance to make a few miles today and all I can say is wow I did not exspect that much diferrence in power it is great .
It also seems alot louder is that normal ? I would also like some advice on jetting ,I am at about700 ft ,the book says 160 main jets I have 156.3
in there now can I go lower ? This is a Venture with smart carbs ,It is the same as MM600 any one have any exsperience with these I would like to hear from you .

sorry I cant help you on the smart carb thing..but that mid range punch is the heads gasket...kewl
